Bigger is better?

The did it. The Football Association passed a resolution to increase the number of teams in the top league from 12 to 14. Sharjah and Emirates are likely to survive relegation. FA President Yousuf Al Serkal promoted the idea of 14 teams since he began his election campaign. His idea is that the new format will provide more matches improving the players' quality. By the way, in the other side, going for quantity not ever means the rise of quality. Not all the clubs are at  the same level. Also, the increse number of teams  would represent a financial struggle for some clubs. The objective should be to benefit the country's football level, while the though is that this move was made in the way to benefit financially the League from television broadcasts.
